[W]omen had no say in how society was built? So female writers, female political activists, female politicians, female religious leaders, and female voters have had no say, huh?

Ryking, missing the point. Female writers, poltical activists, politicians, religious leaders and voters ALL had to fight tooth and nail for any say they were given (by the men who set the rules for society). To pretend that because they fought for what little rights and representation that was allows, that they’re just as responsible for the patriarchal society of today is so myopic it defies my understanding.

Just look at the Congress, for god’s sake! Less than 17% of Congresspeople are women. One gender (males) has a clear and definite position of power in society- to deny that would be to deny verifiable, reproducible facts.
